Akablay marks birthday with shows
Today, June 3 is guitarist Akablay’s birthday and he has lined up three concerts to mark the occasion.

The first show is slated for tonight at the Piano Bar, near the Greda Estates Roundabout at Teshie-Nungua.
He moves with his Abiza band to the +233 Jazz Bar and Grill at North Ridge, also in Accra, for another gig on Saturday, June 4.
The third show will come off at The Republic Bar, Osu in Accra, on Wednesday, June 8.
A former member of the Western Diamonds band who also studied with Koo Nimo and other great Ghanaian highlife guitarists, Akablay has three albums under his name.
His latest song, Take Away (We Are Taking The Girls Away) featuring Cabum, has been a hit with music lovers over the last few months and gets played regularly on radio stations across the country.
“I have been surprised at the way Take Away has been received so far. It was just a fun piece I was fooling around with in the studio.
It, however, seemed the public needed some light-hearted highlife stuff to groove along with and Take Away filled that urge,” said Akablay.
