Amakye Dede to explode at RTP awards
Apart from his well-patronised songs, highlife maestro, Abrantie Amakye Dede, knows how to thrill his audience with his stage performances and tonight will be no exception when he mounts the stage at the Globa Radio and Television Personality Awards(RTP) scheduled for the Accra International Conference Centre.

Amakye Dede, known for his “serious” music, will feed patrons of the awards event with great highlife tunes as the headline act. Also to share the stage with him are Paapa Yankson, Cecilia Marfo, Herty Borngreat and child rapper, Tutalapatoo.
They will support the “Iron Boy” to make the night memorable for patrons as he gets them to sing along to some of his popular songs like Bebrebe Yi, DabiDabi, To be a man Na Wa and Iron Boy.
The star-studded event with Kafui Dey and Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson as emcees, will see over 30 radio and TV personalities being honoured on the night.
Speaking to Showbiz Wednesday, December 4, Prince Mackay, the CEO of Big Events Ghana, organisers of the RTP Awards said that the selection of artistes for the event was to start the month of the Yuletide on a very good note and to whip up enthusiasm for the approaching festivities.
“Amakye Dede is a man who appeals to many people with his kind of music and he never disappoints when he hits the stage. The level of energy he exhibits when he performs beats many of our young artistes and I know he will be at his best on the night.”
In its third year, the Globa RTP Awards has since its inception recognised and rewarded radio and television personalities who have endeared themselves to listeners and viewers and contributed toward the development of the industry in Ghana.
Radio presenter and Peace FM’s Kokrokoo host, Kwami Sefa Kayi has picked the overall Radio and Television Personality Award back to back. This year, he is in contention with Gifty Anti of GTV, Joselyn Dumas of Viasat 1 and Bola Ray of Joy FM. Many are waiting to see if he can win it for the third time.
