On January 2, 2019 by the decree and citation of the King of Akwamu, Odeneho Kwafo Akoto III of the Akan people, on the banks of the Volta River in the Eastern Region of Ghana, I WAS OFFICIALLY ENSTOOLED AS ODUPOMMA (Queen: The tree with the sacred fruit that nurtures knowledge, wisdom and courage). I am exceedingly proud of this great honor, and will do my best to uphold the respect of our people as I represent us in the diaspora. Congratulations to @officialmichaeljai on his enstoolment as the Odupong (King: The tree with strong roots that does not fear the storm) Here’s to our royal lineage and future! #CallMeByMyName #WeComeFromKingsAndQueens #RoyalBloodline #WarriorWoman #FullCircleFestival2018 #YearOfReturn2019 #WAVsHoliday

Yesterday, on the last business day of my trip to Ghana, His Excellency, The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo invited me back to the Presidential Office at the Jubilee House. Exactly one year ago, we had our first meeting during which he asked me what I would do to contribute to the health of Ghana as its daughter in the diaspora. I was truly inspired by what he said then— until Africa is respected, those of African descent won’t be respected... ANYWHERE. As we see images and videos of the abuse of Black people (and are forced to highlight with movements like #BlackLivesMatter), I know it’s a direct result of the continued disrespect of Africans all over the world. As a marketer and business executive, I understand what it takes to change the narrative and I intended to throw the full weight of my professional experience to make a difference. @boriskodjoe and @nicoleariparker (and our families) joined us after my initial private audience, and it was out of that meeting that the spark of the idea for the Full Circle Festival ignited. I am exceedingly proud that I’ve returned and delivered what The President asked of me. It is no coincidence that @cnn has named Ghana #4 on the list of places to visit in 2019. But our work doesn’t stop because our short holiday time has come to an end. I’m committed to continue working on behalf of the country of Ghana, with the offices in the government (including the Ghana Tourism Authority) in order to increase the visibility of its rich history, dynamic culture, incomparable hospitality, and promising future. Again, The President has set a high bar... but I intend to reach it, and surpass it. ONWARD! #GodBlessOurHomelandGhana #HereIsToAllDescendantsOfAfrica #DaughterOfTheSoil #UseYourPowerForGood #DoingMyPart #FullCircleFestival2018 #YearOfReturn2019 (dress courtesy of @pistisgh 💃🏿)
