‘Challenge’ brings back George

Talented actor, producer and talkshow host, George Quaye, has never won a place in the popular intellect reality show, The Challenge; indeed the “little big man” has never done as little as compete for any of the life-changing prizes at stake. Yet whenever the competition is mentioned, it is his face that pops up in people’s minds.

The fact that he keeps popping up may be an indication of how well he handles what ordinarily is a gruelling  encounter for best- brain university graduates. George Quaye seems to have the skill to make such an academic exercise interesting, sometimes even thrilling.

Before the season was launched last month, there were people who had anticipated his return following complimentary audience feedback that The Challenge Season Five received.

George Quaye has been the darling boy of many since his debut as “Aboagye” in the hit TV series, Taxi Driver some 14 years ago. Since then, he has carefully carved a niche for himself as an event MC, moderator and show producer.

As The Challenge Season Six rolls, the 15 contestants in the show can be rest assured that when they need to relax during the stress filled show, their host has just the right amount of humour to soften them up.

This season, it has been learnt, is billed to be different from the previous seasons. This year, organisers have promised viewers that tasks elements in line with their qualification requirements will be more practical than theoretical.

Each week, contestants will be expected to prove themselves worthy of the mouthwatering prize package. The contestants will compete with each other in the hopes of showcasing their leadership qualities, creativity, astuteness, analytical thinking and intelligence to the panel of judges and the voting public.

The top three winners of The Challenge Season 6 among several other prizes will win a fully sponsored full board post graduate scholarship from three of Europe’s most respected Universities, the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland, the University of Northumbria and the University of Salford in Manchester.

The package includes air tickets to and from the UK, stipends for food, warm clothing, free tuition, free accommodation and a lot more.

The Challenge Season 6 is a British Council Ghana initiative produced by GHOne TV with support from the Robert Gordon University, the University of Northumbria, the University of Salford, Vitamilk, the Universal Merchant Bank and proudly sponsored by TIGO.

It airs every Sunday at 5pm on Afro Star TV, 6pm on GHOne entertainment TV, 6:30pm on E-TV, 8pm on Viasat One and at 9pm on Capital TV.
