Eddie SAnte drops We Lift You Up on Sept 23
GOSPEL artiste Eddie SAante is prepping up to unveil his second single of the year, We Lift You Up.
We Lift You Up which drops on Tuesday, September 23, is a heartfelt song of praise to God, calling on listeners to join in lifting up the name of Jesus.
Speaking with Graphic Showbiz, Eddie SAnte said he produced the song himself, and brought in a few friends to help capture the lively, collective worship feel he envisioned.
He described We Lift You Up as more than just a song, but a token of gratitude.
“It’s a song of praise, meaning that it should cause the listener to want to praise God. It’s just praising God for who He is, for what He has done and continues to do for us. That’s why we say lift Him up. We are lifting up the Lord Jesus. He alone is worthy of our praise,” he said.
Eddie SAnte further explained that the inspiration for making the song came from reflecting on everyday blessings often taken for granted.
“When we wake up in the morning, we think it’s normal…forgetting that it’s not everybody who is so blessed to be able to just wake up from bed. Even getting to sleep is a problem for some, some people have insomnia.
“But when you can sleep, when you wake up to the chirping of birds and see the sunrise, you should know that God has done so much for you. Despite everything we may go through, we owe it as a duty to praise Him,” he said.
A former member of music group, Ministers from Yahweh (MFY), which debuted with an album, God's Love in 2007, Eddie SAnte returned to music with renewed passion after almost two decades in April 2025 with a single, Afɔre. (Read Eddie SAnte: Retiring the pen, reviving music calling)
According to Eddie SAnte, Afɔre and We Lift You Up which will be released next week bring immense relief and satisfaction to him after taking the long break from music.
