EDITORIAL: “Paper no lie”
The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has consistently advised members to move away from verbal promises and work with contracts. Less than a year ago, the national executive of the union embarked on artiste development fora across the country to make members appreciate a variety of issues which included how to handle contractual agreements.
Music is business and practitioners who want to close their eyes to that fact for political reasons, need not cry to anybody when their hopes are dashed. If Akpadi had a valid agreement with the political party, he could have easily walked to court to state his claim. His colleague musicians should learn from this case.
