Amina Meliane Bamba (La Cote d’Ivoire) and Abdoul Aziz Kone (Mali) delighted the audience with messages on peace, unity and the empowerment of women on the African continent.

Jointly, and severally, the two poets exhibited a cool stagecraft as they delighted the crowd with stimulating texts that simply drew cheers from the audience.

Directed by Ghanaian poet Sir Black, a number of Ghanaian poets: Akambo, Natty, Yogendra, Brenda, Ozionn, Akotowaa and Ansah equally took the audience on a journey of ideas and thoughts brewed in their sub-conscious minds as they pondered over issues confronting mankind.

Ace guitarist Kyekyeku, Seyiram GH and the Choke Gutter group interspersed the poetry with refreshing music, thereby turning the performance into a mini festival.

Dubbed Camp Out, the programme was later transferred to the Haduwa Arts and Cultural Institute located at Apam Apata in the Central Region.

The crew was joined by other poets and musicians and music and poetry lovers who spent time performing, playing games, holding workshops and cleaning portions of the beach.

Goethe-Institut (Ghana / La Cote d’Ivoire), Institut Français (Mali) and FISH Mali supported the events.
