“The first thing I would like to change in the industry is the way women are seen. I would like female celebs to be treated with more respect and be seen as more than just sexual objects.

“We have a lot of talented females who are doing great but they are seen as sex objects, both in music and movies. They are expected to dress in a certain way before they will be accepted. I don’t get it, what kind of industry are we building?

Abi Ahuofe said there were always high expectations for female celebs and even subjected to abuse when they went ahead to meet them.

“If they do all that to get people to pay attention to them too, they are labelled as whores or people who impact the youth negatively. A very good example is the late Ebony and Suzzy Williams who received backlash from Ghanaians so what should we do now.

“I think society has to change the way it sees women to give them a chance to be themselves; to not be afraid to be themselves, so that if one woman wants to cover herself from head to toe and the other wants to show skin from head to toe, they would be equally be listened to for the music they make and not because of how they look,” she said.

Abi Ahuofe said she has massive respect for all females in the industry, who were persevering in the face of challenges particularly Nana Ama McBrown.

“I really admire Nana Ama McBrown, she braced all the odds and today, see how she is celebrated for her talent but I know how much insults she endured particularly when her marriage delayed,” she stated.
