FirstBank Ghana deepens support for creative arts with major December sponsorships
FirstBank Ghana has stepped up its support for the creative arts and youth innovation with a string of strategic sponsorships in December 2025, positioning culture, music and digital creativity at the centre of its youth empowerment and financial inclusion agenda.
The Bank said the interventions, which span major concerts, festivals and digital content initiatives, are designed to provide platforms for young creatives and cultural practitioners while connecting audiences to innovative banking solutions tailored to a fast-evolving, youth-driven economy.
One of the headline events backed by FirstBank Ghana was the Kweku Smoke Revival Concert, themed The Rebirth, held on December 18, 2025, at GHUD Park behind the Accra Mall. The event went beyond live music, featuring a car showcase of luxury vehicles, pop-up displays of limited-edition merchandise, skate presentations highlighting Ghana’s emerging skate culture, and a nationwide community basketball competition. Surprise guest performers also thrilled patrons on the night, reinforcing the concert’s appeal as a multi-dimensional youth culture experience.
FirstBank Ghana is also sponsoring Sarkodie’s Rapperholic 2025 Concert, scheduled for Thursday, December 25, 2025, at the Grand Arena in Accra. The concert follows a successful Homecoming edition held in Kumasi in September 2025 and continues Rapperholic’s reputation as one of Ghana’s premier music events. Sarkodie, a long-standing value partner of the Bank, is expected to deliver high-energy performances, premium production and memorable moments for fans.
In the build-up to Rapperholic 2025, the Bank partnered Sarkodie and the Rapperholic Team to roll out the FirstNest Content Creators Challenge, a digital initiative aimed at opening opportunities for young creatives. Launched on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Akuna Pod, the challenge brought together 50 content creators competing to demonstrate how fast and easy it is to open a FirstBank account using FirstNest, the Bank’s digital self-service platform. Out of the initial group, 20 creators have been shortlisted to produce further content, with winners set to receive their rewards live on the Rapperholic stage.
FirstNest allows customers to open an account instantly, activate digital banking services including USSD, the mobile app and mobile money, and manage their finances seamlessly using only their Ghana Card, without visiting a branch. The Bank says the platform is central to its strategy of making banking more accessible to digitally savvy young people.
Beyond music, FirstBank Ghana is extending its support to cultural heritage through sponsorship of the Ankos Festival, popularly known as the Takoradi Masquerade Festival or Street Carnival, scheduled around Christmas 2025 in the Western Region. Organised with support from Connect FM, the festival celebrates Ghanaian culture through traditional performances, masquerade parades, culinary experiences, artisan markets and community-focused activities at the Ankos Village.
Commenting on the Bank’s December engagements, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of FirstBank Ghana, Victor Yaw Asante, said the creative arts remain a powerful tool for national development. “At FirstBank, we see the creative arts as more than entertainment, it is a powerful engine for youth empowerment, innovation and economic growth. By investing in platforms like these, we are deliberately investing in young people because they are not only today’s creators, but tomorrow’s leaders, entrepreneurs and nation builders. Our ‘You First’ agenda guides everything we do, placing the aspirations, creativity and financial well-being of our customers and communities at the centre of our decisions. Through initiatives such as FirstNest and our support for music, culture and digital content creation, we are making it easier for young people to access opportunities, express themselves, and build a secure financial future,” he said.
The Bank believes that aligning its brand with creative and cultural platforms allows it to deepen engagement with young people while promoting inclusive digital banking adoption across the country.
Through its December 2025 sponsorships, FirstBank Ghana continues to position itself as a committed partner to Ghana’s creative arts industry, using culture and innovation as pathways to empower talent, celebrate identity and support sustainable youth-led growth.
