GMA Europe to give GH artistes global exposure
The maiden edition of Ghana Music Awards, Europe has been launched with the aim of pushing the fortunes of Ghanaian artistes on a global platform.
The maiden ceremony which is scheduled for April 24 will take place in Germany with a yet-to-be-disclosed venue.
The information was disclosed at the launch which took place at the A H hotel, Ridge in Accra recently with media personalities, musicians and music industry players gracing it.

In a presentation, Prince Makay, Board member of Platinum Music, organisers of GMA Europe said the main idea of the awards scheme is to promote Ghanaian artistes to gain international appeal.
“The aim of this award scheme is to project our artistes internationally and with the team of organisers having their offices in Germany, Netherlands and Belgium, we believe we can push and market our artistes in these countries and beyond," he said.
He was emphatic that Ghana had great music talents and potentials and the time was ripe to make exploits outside the country.
He also disclosed mouthwatering prizes for the winners with the topmost prize winner getting two plots of land in Accra, courtesy Jim Ray, who are the title sponsor of the event.
“Two plots of land in Accra is a big deal and we are proud to say that we are offering this for the over all Artiste of the Year,” he said.
In all, artistes are expected to be awarded in 29 categories including the ultimate Artiste of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Song of the Year, Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste of the Year, Hiphop/hiplife Artiste of the Year, Nigeria Song of the year and Nigerian Artistes among others.
