This year’s edition themed, “Toward a Post-COVID Africa: Recovering Together,” is a hybrid of in-person and virtual with the likes of Ghana's President Nana Akufo-Addo; Yoweri Museveni, President of Uganda and Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda.
The event is also being attended by other prominent personalities as well as innovators, entrepreneurs and business leaders.
Corporate Affairs Manager of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Mr Kofi Atta Kusi mentioned that the festival aims at solving Ghana’s tourism crisis to find confidence to favourably compete.
According to him, the festival has helped Ghana to connect with the larger tourism market and there was more to be achieved with it in the coming years.
“We have achieved many goals since this festival started by building strong tourism partnerships with many African countries such as Uganda and Rwanda. We’ve built networking to promote Ghana’s tourism to the world.
“Through fora and lectures, participants and particularly stakeholders in the sector gain knowledge to explore better opportunities outside Ghana. By this, we help push and shape Africa and Ghana as well,” he stated.

According to Mr Kusi Atta, the festival has always afforded Ghana the chance to learn from the ways of Uganda and Rwanda which came back stronger from war and genocide to build their countries by driving their tourism potentials.
“For instance in Ghana, how well are we utilising the Beyond The Year of Return to push Ghanaian tourism to the world? All these help to push and shape our continent including Ghana,” he stated.
