Hearts set to face Kotoko in 2025 GHALCA President’s Cup
Hearts of Oak are set to face archrivals Asante Kotoko in the 2025 Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) President’s Cup, scheduled for Sunday, July 6, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The 2025 edition of the prestigious annual football event, which honors the sitting President of Ghana, was officially launched by GHALCA on Thursday, June 12, in Accra.
Marking the 10th edition of the competition, this year’s match promises an electrifying atmosphere as the historic rivalry between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko is reignited.
The President’s Cup has evolved into a symbol of national pride and football excellence, serving as a platform to unite the nation through sport. Though ceremonial in origin, the fixture is fiercely contested, regularly attracting massive crowds and high-profile dignitaries.
The 2025 edition will be held in honor of President John Dramani Mahama.
In recent years, the event has gained international appeal, with the 2024 edition featuring Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas.
According to the organizers, admission to the general stands will be free to the public, with only the VIP and VVIP sections requiring tickets.
