Herty Corgie champions collaboration among gospel artistes

Gospel singer Herty Corgie has emphasized the importance of collaboration among gospel artistes, stating that it can lead to the creation of something truly special and impactful.

According to her, when artistes come together, they can pool together their talents and styles to produce music that ring with a wider audience.

In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, the Gratitude artiste expressed her enthusiasm to work with gospel artistes with different music styles, believing that such collaborations can help spread the message of hope and love to an even larger crowd.

“Gospel artistes need to come together and support one another.   When we collaborate, we can reach new heights and create music that inspires and uplifts people. It's time for us to put aside our differences and work together to take the gospel message to the world,” she said.

The gospel music scene is alive with excitement as musicians experiment with innovative sounds, blending traditional and contemporary styles to attract a new wave of fans.

Herty is certain the fusion is one of the most thrilling trends in the industry today.

“I think one of the exciting trends in gospel music right now is the fusion of traditional and contemporary styles. Artistes are experimenting with different sounds and genres, which is attracting a new audience to the genre. It's wonderful to see young people embracing gospel music in new and creative ways.

Recently, Herty held the sixth edition of her annual Overflow Experience concert at Grace2Grace Centre in Maryland, USA.

Themed, My Gratitude, the event provided an avenue for her and other artistes including Dorothy Oteng and Zaza Mokhethi from South Africa, to lead patrons in moments of worship, praise and thanksgiving to celebrate God’s goodness.

Despite the success of her annual concert held in both Ghana and USA over the years, Herty expressed concerns about the lack of corporate support for gospel events. (Read I am jealous of NDC creatives, Mahama appreciates their brains – Socrate Safo)

“One of the biggest challenges we face is the lack of support from corporate Ghana. Unlike other genres, gospel music doesn't always get the recognition it deserves from sponsors and event organisers.

“However, I'm optimistic that as our industry continues to grow and produce quality content, we'll attract more support,” she stated.
