gsbIt has been a tough journey combining professional and academic duties in the last year. But all the sweat is now a sea of joy and a huge pride for budding filmmaker, Nicholas Tetteh Nartey popularly known as Big Ghun who has graduated with a Master’s Degree in Brands and Communications from the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) today.
And tomorrow, will be another big record for Big Ghun when he premieres his first movie, ‘Vibes The Movie’ at the Silverbird Cinemas, Accra Mall and West Hills Mall on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
He posted on Facebook earlier today, “I may not know the exact destination, but one thing is certain—I will never stop moving forward.
Today, I proudly hold a Master’s Degree in Brands and Communications Management..."
While pursuing his postgraduate studies, he successfully directed, produced, and grew the viral Vibes online series into a cultural phenomenon.
By juggling rigorous academic work with the demands of filmmaking, Big Ghun is growing his reputation as one of Ghana's most driven and multifaceted creatives.
With his graduation, Big Ghun joins UPSA alumni network, shared by other notable entertainment personalities such as DJ Mensah, Sarkodie’s personal DJ, and renowned musician, Becca.
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Big Ghun who had his Degree from the National Fulm and Television Institute said he was glad to be part of creatives erasing the negative stereotypes that they(creatives) don’t appreciate education
“ In the last few years, we have seen some of our great entertainers going back to school and also upgrading academic qualifications. Gradually, we are creating a new perspective for cretaives and really excited to be part of this new move,” he said.

The phenomenon began as a weekly social media series blending rap, comedy, and relatable storytelling about the everyday hustle of Ghanaian youth.
Within just a year, it captured the nation’s attention, amassing over 10 million views across various social media platforms and featuring many influential personalities who added their own spark to the movement.
Building on its popularity, Vibes has transitioned into cinema with a full-length musical comedy-drama, Vibes The Movie which movie enthusiasts will get to watch tomorrow.
The drama features an impressive list of talents including Clemento Suarez, Aaron Adatsi, Feli Nuna, Giovani Caleb, Godwin Namboh, and many more.
Shot across multiple locations in Accra including the famous Abossey Okin enclaves of spare parts, the film explores themes of hustle, friendship, and the rhythm of street life, all brought to life through rap and music.
