I broke up with Iyanya because he cheated with Tonto—Yvonne Nelson
Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson says that she walked away from her famed relationship with Nigerian musician Iyanya because he allegedly cheated on her with Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh.
In her now famous autobiography, I Am Not Yvonne Nelson, the Princess Tyra actress said she took the decision after a call from a reliable informant that Tonto Dikeh visited her then boyfriend in her absence.

“When I was convinced that the authenticity of the information I received about Iyanya, I was heartbroken. I took to Twitter to rant and vent. Tonto Dikeh responded on Twitter saying people changed and so did feelings, so I should move on,” she stated in the book
She said in the book that she later heard more stories about what Iyanya did with some of his female crew members and was convinced that what happened between him and Tonto wasn’t an isolated incident.
I Am Not Yvonne Nelson, a memoir was launched at the Peduase Valley Resort on Sunday, June 17. The 262-page book has topics including Meeting Mr Nelson, Abortion, Banned From Producers, A Letter To My Father, Confronting My Mother, I Accepted With Years, Nigeria and It’s Powerful Men among others.
Speaking at the book launch, Yvonne Nelson said she wrote the book to better understand who she really is and find her real identity.
“Today is not about Yvonne Nelson. It is about a young woman and now a mother who is struggling to discover herself to find peace. The book is a about a Dansoman girl who has had her fair share of doubts, anxieties, fears and modest successes.
“I wrote this book to tell my own story and I hope by so doing that the real Yvonne will be revealed because right now, you don’t know the Yvonne you think you know. I believe I Am Not Yvonne Nelson will speak to every young girl out there who is confused and trying to find her feet,” she stated.

Giving his remarks, the chairman for the occasion, CEO of Aqua Safari Resort, Mr. Samuel Afari Dartey stated that Yvonne Nelson has done what most people have not been able to do and that is writing a book.
“In life, you are successful based on three things—having a child, building a house and writing a book. Yvonne Nelson has been able to achieve all three and we celebrate her today for her success. When she called me to be the chairman for the occasion, I accepted it in good faith because Yvonne Nelson is a good person,” he said.
The launch was attended by celebrities and stakeholders in the entertainment industry including Prince David Osei, Shirley Frimpong-Manso, Empress Gifty, KOD, Rocky Dawuni, Medikal, Naa Ashorkor, Joselyn Dumas, Ivan Quashigah and Abdul Salam Mumuni.
