I didn't use Sister Derby to become famous - Medikal
Rapper Medikal has denied assertions that he rode on the back of his ex-girlfriend Sister Derby to become famous.
Since their break up, people have accused Medikal of using Sister Derby to gain popularity and dumping her but taking his turn on Kumawood actor, Kwaku Manu's Aggressive Interview on YouTube, he said it was not the truth.
“Before Sister Derby came into my life, Medikal was doing great. I was quite famous and was driving a Mercedes Benz. It's true she added something to my life when we dated but I don’t think I rode on her to be famous,” he said.
Medikal said though Sister Derby is a nice lady he was now married to actress Fella Makafui and she was the only one in his life.

Asked if he had cheated on his wife since he got married four months ago, Medikal said never.
“I am that person who likes to date one lady at a time. Even with Sister Derby I was faithful to her how much more when I am married. When I'm not performing on stage I am mostly indoors doing my own thing," he said.
Talking about growing up, Medikal said he didn’t have it easy and at a point in time had to sell phones at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle just to survive and even slept under the Kaneshie bridge for weeks.
"It was not easy for me at all, I had to hustle just to take care of my mum who was not working at that time. I went through a lot of challenges but I thank God everything is fine now," he stated.
He thanked rapper Criss Waddle for coming into his life and making him who he is today.
"Apart from God, I owe Criss Waddle for my life. He gave me money when I was broke and put his career on hold just to make me shine. I will forever be grateful to you, boss. Not many popular artistes will do that but you did it because you believed in me,” he said.
