‘I’ll work to lift Volta music’
The newly-elected Chairman of the Volta Region branch of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Anthony Komla Dagbe, says his primary task is to ensure that music and musicians from the region get due recognition in Ghana and beyond.
In a chat with The Mirror, the man, known in showbiz circles as Tony D, said the region abounded in many wonderful musicians who deserve wider recognition but are still virtually unknown.

“Apart from being a musician, I’m also a recording studio and radio station owner. I’ll do all I can to use the facilities at my disposal to help uplift the region, musically,” Tony D said.
He released his debut album, an eight-track collection called ‘Think a Little’ in 1996. He has since put out over 10 albums.
He later set up the Tony D Music Studio in Ho and helped many up-and-coming artistes realise their ambitions to record under their own names.
Being in the music business and realising the important role radio stations play in publicising works of music, he started the Tosh FM in 2013.
According to Tony D, the station will double up its effort at promoting the works of musicians in the region and also the image of MUSIGA.
