I remain a record holder in spirit, Hilda Baci says after Alan Fisher surpassed her 'cook-a-thon' record
Nigerian chef Hilda Baci says she remains a Guinness World Record holder in spirit, despite the recent announcement that Irish chef Alan Fisher has claimed the title for the longest cooking marathon saying.

Her declaration comes in response to the Guinness World Records (GWR) officially recognising Alan Fisher's remarkable feat.
GWR earlier this week announced on its official website, revealing that Alan Fisher had achieved a staggering cooking marathon record of 119 hours and 57 minutes at his restaurant in Japan, surpassing Hilda Baci's previous record. Following the official announcement of Fisher's new record, Nigeria’s Hilda Baci, who had previously proudly displayed her Guinness World Record holder status in her social media bio quickly adjusted her bio.
Hilda Baci however clarified her decision to amend her social media bios saying she was only following tradition just as Chef Lata from India had similarly updated her bio when her record was broken earlier in the year.
In her post, Hilda Baci stated, "Just as Chef Lata respectfully acknowledged the new record holder by updating her bio and later fine-tuning the wording, I've adjusted mine too."
She emphasised the tremendous effort and hard work it took for Alan Fisher to achieve this culinary milestone, expressing admiration for his dedication.
