The 55-year-old Oscar winner put together a three-minute recording last night as he detailed his health battle – and told fans he has been 'to hell and back'.
Following his hospitalisation in April, Jamie Foxx is thought to have had to spent time in a physical rehab centre and now says he didn't know if he'd make it out.
There have been a number of different updates about his recovery from those close to him in the months that followed, with it was recently claimed that Jamie was "still not himself".
The actor says the time is right to speak about his recovery and explained he is now in a better place in the emotional video.
In the heartbreaking clip, Jamie explained he was determined to dismiss speculation and his 'eyes are working just fine' – moving them from side to side and insisted he is 'not paralysed', despite some claims.
A tearful Jamie said: "I went through something I never thought I would go through. I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear an update, but to be honest with you, I didn't want you to see me like that man.

"I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, [or] a television show.
"I didn't want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through."
He says he may not still be here if it wasn't for sister Deidra Dixon and daughter Corinne, 29.
"To them, to God, to a lot of great medical people, I'm able to leave you this video," the star added.

"I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in in such a way, and y'all know they kept it airtight, they didn't let nothing out, they protected me, and that's what I hope that everyone could have in moments like these.
"I just want to say I love everybody and I love all the love that I got."
He went on: "If you see me out from now on and every once in a while I just burst into tears, it’s just because it’s been tough, man. I was sick, man. But now I got my legs under me, so you’re gonna see me out."
