Hold on, I’m re-branding and will be coming out soon to be with yoiu again, was the theme of her message when this reporter caught up with her last week.

“I have been listening to my fans and I have taken their suggestions and criticisms in good faith critics in good faith and I’ve been working on different fronts to improve my act, my music and my total stage presence.   I promise my fans a different Kaakie when I finally come back”, Kaakie told Showbiz.

The Toffee Pon Tongue hitmaker revealed that, as part of her rebranding she will only do live band music. “From now on, I want to do live band music which I am very good at. Most of my live band performances have been very impressiveI wish to stay with it.”

Answering a question about why many of her live perfromances did not click with her audiences, Kaakie stated that miming is not her thing hence the reason for her many below-expectation performances. “I have always done live band at church and I think that is waht I’m cut for”.

Known for songs like Too Much, DC Tun Up, Top Gyal Time and Designer Dumper, the first female dancehall artiiste noted that her journey to stardom had not been easy since she had to combine her studies with her muisc saying “I know with determinationa nd hardwork, I will survive as I have done in the past years”.

Her manager, Jam Master J, described Kaakie as one of the most talented musicians he has ever worked with. According to JMJ “Kaakie is very obedient and always ready to take criticisms that come her way. Her fans are expecting something different from her that is why we are working towards it.

“Samini, for example, who I used to manage didn’t just wake up to be the star that he is now. It took him almost seven years to get there and I believe Kaakie is on the same path to get to the top”, he said.

JMJ said Kaakie’s who is considered to be Ghana’s dancehall queen will take Ghana by surprise when she is finally done with her rebranding. “My team is seriously working on Kaakie and I can promise without fear that Kaakie’s image after her rebranding will be different” JMJ confidently said.
