M’am Bea close to Big Brother prize

With only four days to go, Ghana’s representative, M’am Bea, is in a good stance to win the grand prize in the Brother Africa (Hotshots) television reality show that ends on Sunday evening.

M’am Bea, real name Beatrice Maame Adwoa Boabeng Oppong, has a fair chance among seven other housemates to pick up the $300,000 grand prize to become the first ever Ghanaian to deliver that feat.

Followers of the 24-hour running programme on DSTV have expressed optimism that Ghana’s rep, quiet as she has been in the Big Brother House, has played the game quite effectively and thus deserves to win.

Alex Biney, Ghana’s representative in the Big Brother Africa (Amplified) reality show in 2011 is one of the optimists. He told myjoyonline.com that he expected M’am Bea to garner more votes than Butterphly, Idris, JJ, Macky2, Nhlanhla Sipe, and Tayo to win this season’s 63-day show.

According to him, “M’am Bea has also been a model candidate also, respectful, polite, no conflicts. She is also attractive, sounds South African when speaking English but can speak Twi and other Ghanaian languages so she can be marketed to both countries.”

Nicknamed ‘Bomaye’, Alex believed that Nigeria’s Tayo is a major threat to the Ghanaian representative but said that if M’am Bea won,  he would be compensated by the organisers in another way.

“I feel like Tayo is used to bring in the votes and viewers but will be rewarded in another way,” he said.

Alex was evicted from the Big Brother Africa (Amplified) show after 70 days in the Big Brother house.
