Maaha Beach Resort is still in full operation

The Management of Maaha Beach Resort has stated that it is committed to the safety of guests, following a fire incident which resulted in one of its 25 structures razed to the ground on Wednesday, May 28 at 8:00pm.

In a statement signed by the General Manager, Sylvia Osei-Mensah, it mentioned that a public statement has become necessary following false publications and distortions by some bloggers on social media and other media outlets about the fire incident causing fear and panic among the public.

It mentioned that the fire started from a nearby resort and rapidly spread due to the close proximity to their premises. (Related article: Fire destroys facilities at Maaha Beach, Vision Beach resorts )

“Despite swift intervention by emergency services and our internal safety team, our block next to the wall was affected by the flames. However, with about 180 rooms available currently, operations remain unaffected.

We are grateful to report that there were no casualties or injuries, and all guests and staff were evacuated safely and efficiently. We extend our deepest appreciation to the emergency responders and community members who assisted in containing the fire and ensuring the safety of everyone involved,” part of the press release reads.

It continued, “While this is a challenging time for us, we remain strong and focused on rebuilding, and remain committed to serving our guests safely as possible. The safety and well-being of our guests, staff, and community remain our utmost priority.

“Management wishes to place on record that Maaha Beach Resort is in business and appeals to its customers to continue to patronize their services”.
