Nana Efua unveils her Love Poems
Nana Efua Rockson is a poet. She is one person who has lived an interesting life, worn many hats and pursued many adventures.
Come tomorrow, May 5, her collection of love poems entitled Tebi's Book of Love Poems will be launched at the PAWA House at 4 p.m., by no other person but Prof. Atukwei Okai who is also a legendary poet.
About the book
The name Tebi simply means "son of a rock" in Ga and Nana Efua cherishes it as it happens to be a pet name given to her by a friend as a special translation of her surname "Rockson".

In her bid to discover love, Tebi has come to symbolise all the cascading, rocky, gruelling and beautiful adventures of love to the author.
It is said that writing poems about love is one of the best ways to grow, both intellectually and emotionally, with language articulating and framing experiences symbolically.
In an interview with The Mirror, Nana Efua explained that she writes love poems because love is beautiful. According to her, everyone has ever loved somebody or something.
These love poems and quotes will provide people with a greater way of communicating with their loved ones, which will lead to a stronger and better relationship.
"If you write poetry, you can get in touch with the big issues of the meaning of life and develop a spiritual appreciation for it," she explained.
Nana Efua pointed out that a great love poem could make everything more romantic and beautiful.

“Love quotes convey a message that a person has difficulty expressing on his or her own. It’s great to strengthen a relationship or rekindle an old flame of love. Love quotes have a positivism that no one can imagine,” she stated.
What inspired her to write love poems is that it comes to her naturally since she read Literature in the secondary school. “Almost all of us love to tell the feelings that are deep within us with poetry. Anyone who reads my poems and love quotes falls in love with the messages; therefore, it urged me on to put together these 13 love poems,” she noted.
Some of the titles of the love poems include What is the Colour of Your Love, The Energy of My Love, The Smile, Love Hurts So Bad, Heart Beat, I Am Falling in Love and Am I losing my mind?
Creation of feminine clubs
Interestingly, having attended co-educational institutions all her life, one would have expected her to form a club for both sexes but no.

Her reasons are that young girls often encounter several challenges; therefore, if they are mentored early they become assertive and good decision makers.
“I intend to visit some schools and share my experiences with them to boost their confidence. Some girls have talents that they themselves are unaware of. For instance, some have good voices, can perform drama or even engage in competitive sports yet they won’t use those God-given talents,” she indicated.
She explained that the corporate space was crazy; therefore, “if you have another passion, pursue it so you can unwind to beat the stress level that comes with pressures of corporate targets and responsibilities”.

She revealed that her spiritual colour is green and she loves it because it symbolises growth, harmony, freshness and fertility.
