Obrafour: I’m embarrassed when Sarkodie kneels before me

Ghanaian rap icon Obrafour has expressed feelings of embarrassment when Sarkodie publicly prostrates to greet him, in recognition of his influence and contributions to the music industry.

In a TikTok vide sighted by Graphic Showbiz, Obrafour said he feels uneasy when Sarkodie shows him public respect, like kneeling, wondering if he deserves it.

Obrafour, a pivotal figure in Sarkodie's early career, acknowledged the respect but acknowledged that God has been the source of the positive energy he enjoys and sometimes feels it will be more fitting to direct such reverence towards God instead of himself.

 “Sarkodie is huge, but anytime he sees me and wants to kneel before me, it sometimes embarrasses me. I ask myself, who am I for Sarkodie to lie on the floor for me?” he said.  

In the said video, Obrafour talked about his relationship with God and how even though his mother’s death caused him to lose faith in God, he renewed his relationship with God following his instant break and success in his career.

He mentioned that the breakthrough could only have been possible through divine intervention and that is why he felt uneasy anytime people worshipped him for his music talent.

“Before music, I was a very devoted Adventist but I abandoned the church when my mother died because I couldn’t understand why such a committed Christian who was my family’s backbone could just die like that, then there is no God.

“But when I did ‘Pae Muka’, and it blew, I sat back and analysed what happened and could tell it was through God’s power. It was a positive energy that was working in my favour and I couldn’t attribute it to anything.

“Anytime I sit down and reflect, I only say that God has really done a lot for me. The most important thing is to give all the glory to God,” he said.
