Only hypocrites condemn McBrown —Dada Hafco

HIGHLIFE musician Dada Hafco has said the workers of Despite Media Group who are condemning Nana Ama McBrown’s movement to Media General’s Onua TV are just hypocrites portraying “masked loyalty” to their bosses.

Until the move, Nana Ama was the host of United Showbiz, which airs on Despite Media’s UTV.

Dada Hafco, real name Terry Asare Boamah, who is a close pal of McBrown, told Graphic Showbiz yesterday, March 15, that he was certain the management of Despite Group was not bothered by Nana Ama’s transfer but surprisingly, some of the workers have bestowed upon themselves spokesperson roles.

“Who in this world doesn’t want change, which comes with growth? That is what Nana Ama has done and she has not wronged anyone by taking the decision. I’m not sure all the workers with Despite Group started with them. Of course not!

“People moved from other places to join Despite Group because they had better offers. At the moment, I can say that Kwami Sefa Kayi, the host of Kokrooko on Peace FM, is the face of the station. Did he not leave Radio Gold for Peace FM?

“The likes of Afia Pokua and Abeiku Santana all left Multimedia‘s Adom FM at a time when people thought they were the biggest presenters with the station. Did anyone call them names or say they have betrayed Adom FM? So why are some people spearheaded by Nana Ama’s former colleagues taking such a stance?” he quizzed.

The news of actress Nana Ama McBrown's move to Onua TV earlier this week has created lots of buzz on social media

There is no doubt the biggest news that hit the airwaves, and especially social media earlier this week, was the grand announcement of the Kumasi Yonko actress joining Onua TV.

She was officially welcomed to the media house by the management and staff amidst drumming and dancing.

She was later formally introduced to the staff who warmly welcomed the pretty actress and gave her a large bouquet.

The glorious reception was carried live on all Media General outlets, including all their social media platforms.

As if that was not enough already, Nana Ama’s fliers announcing her new move to Media General were splashed on their social media handles.

According to Dada Hafco, the “biggest media transfer”, as some social media users had labeled the move, was not new and people should not make a huge fuss about it.

“In this life, people die and people are born every day. That’s the same way the very day that a couple gets married, another divorces. Change is constant and I’m very sure that the management of Despite Group perfectly understands this concept of life.

“Besides, I’m not sure Nana Ama’s former colleagues who are throwing insults at her will not exit Despite Group should they get better offers. We are the authors of our lives so if she thinks this decision is best for her, who are we to question her?” he added.

Interestingly, Dada Hafco’s views have been shared by the likes of Akrobeto and Afia Pokuaa, both of Despite Group.

Akrobeto, who presents the Real News on UTV, said whatever had happened was business and Nana Ama owed no one an explanation.

“The owners of Despite Media are okay with Nana Ama but the disciples are always shouting to gain favour from the bosses. Did she not increase our viewership too? Or did you give her the acting talent too?

“This attack by some Despite Media workers is not cool and gives us a bad corporate image,” Afia Pokuaa posted on her Facebook wall on Tuesday, March 14.
