PapJay and Friends has for the past three years been organising programmes to raise funds to undertake charity works within the Ashanti Region.

This year's event dubbed Bronya Nkwan saw the radio presenter treating patrons to fufu and all kinds of soup at the Greenwood Event Centre in Kumasi.

Just like the previous years’ event, this year’s aim was to put a smile on the faces of street children by providing them with packed meals.

“We intend to feed as many as 500 street children within the Kumasi metropolis,” he told the Graphic Showbiz.

In the first edition, he said the programme raised funds to refurbish the baby unit of the Mampong Government Hospital and also donated some consumables to them.

Last year, “we feted 300 street children and this year we decided to increase the number to 500,” he said.

Mr Mensah said the programme has now come to stay and would feature yearly in his programme.

For him, it is way of giving back to society and helping put a smile on the faces of under privileged in society
