The eight-track album which has songs such as Party Time, Blofo, My Lord, Black Queen, You Never Know, Touch My Heart, Ambolo, and Kumbaya Bachanguru, is set to change the face of highlife and reggae music in Ghana.

The songs on the track are predominantly recorded on a mid-tempo tune mixed with reggae rhythms.

The launch was an opportunity for the host, Kwame Nsaidoo, to treat patrons to songs on the album which had a positive feedback from listeners.

In a chat with Showbiz, Cankism said he calls his genre of music Rhythmz of Africa to depict his admiration for traditional African music.

“I grew up listening to a lot of reggae music as well as in an environment where traditional music dominated, and I think that is what has influenced the kind of music I do. I love to identify with my roots and that is just what I do with my music,” he stated.

Cankism who hails from Navrongo in the Northern Region of Ghana took some time to explain the meaning of his name, saying: “Cankism simply means an open-hearted person who is ready to embrace anyone who comes his way, and that is exactly the kind of person I am”.

Cankism believes that he will be one of the best artistes to emerge from Africa in the next five years if he works hard to churn out good music for people in Ghana and beyond to appreciate.

He used the platform to entreat artistes in the country to learn to master their craft as musicians by not only coming out with hit songs for people to enjoy but take interest in playing an instrument which enhances their skills as artistes.
