Paul accuses Peter of using EFCC to arrest him amid P-Square’s second breakup
In a shocking revelation, Paul Okoye has announced that P-Square has disbanded once again, and accused his twin brother, Peter Okoye, of using the EFCC to orchestrate his arrest, further fueling the rift between the two siblings.

During a recent chat with Nigeria’s City FM, Paul Okoye, of the legendary P-Square duo, disclosed that he and twin brother Peter have parted ways due to Peter's loss of interest in the group.
When asked about P-Square's current status, Paul responded with a negative, citing creative disagreements over their musical direction as the primary reason for the split.
Despite his reluctance to discuss the details of their dispute, Paul acknowledged that the brothers' differing visions for their music ultimately led to the demise of P-Square.
“He sent me a message that he was no longer interested. He told me to my face that he wants to quit," Paul said confirming the split.
Paul disclosed that Peter had asked him to keep their split under wraps, but he was uneasy with this request.
He worried that if he were to revive his solo career later on, he would be seen as the one responsible for the group's breakup, and didn't want to bear the brunt of public blame.
“When I go solo, they will call me a bad person that's why I need to start speaking so the fans can know what's going on," Paul says on his decision to go public.

Paul further shared that Peter petitioned him and their older brother Jude Okoye to the EFCC who invited him in which reflects how badly his relationship with his brother has deteriorated.
In the interview, Paul also shared that the EFCC investigated and cleared him of any financial misappropriation.
"I just want to resume my career as Rudeboy. I have over 200 songs just lying there," Paul says on reactivating his solo career while also boasting that he wrote 99% of their songs as P-Square.
P-Square's latest split is a reminder of their 2017 breakup, which led to a brief solo career, with Peter and Paul adopting the monikers Mr. P and Rudeboy. The duo had reunited in 2021, marked by a conciliatory concert in Lagos, and subsequently released new music, including "Jaiye" and "Find Somebody", teasing a new album.
Unfortunately, their latest split underscores the lingering tensions between the twin brothers, casting a shadow over the future of one of Africa's most beloved and successful music duos.
