Poetic Runway to celebrate Ghanaian culture tomorrow

Budding Spoken Word act, Laud De Poet would be celebrating the essence of Ghana's rich cultural heritage through poetry on Friday , December 22,2023 with the show, Poetic Runway: A Night of African Renaissance."

The event which would take place in the heart of Tema Community 9, Greens Lounge will also remind patrons of the importance of self-identities.

"Poetic Runway, which is endorsed by the  "Beyond The Return" initiative, is not merely a gathering; it's a convergence of fashion, spoken word, and cultural celebration. It will be a symphony of sights, sounds, and emotions, masterfully conducted,' Laud De Poet noted.

He added that, each spoken word piece will resonate with the event's theme, it will amplify the call to celebrate heritage, promote pan-Africanism, and embrace the spirit of Beyond The Return.

"We promise attendees an immersive experience that goes beyond entertainment — it's a journey into the soul of Africa," he stated.

The event which will start at 7pm would also witness  performances from seasoned poets, including, Obibini Wudini and some surprise acts who will spice up the night.

Laud De Poet who described himself as a creative virtuoso says patrons would be brought to tears, and there will also be a lot to also laugh about. 

"My ability to evoke emotions and stimulate the senses of my patrons has been my strong prowess and there will be nothing short of that on that day," he said.

However, he acknowledged that bringing what was just an idea into life has not been easy.
 
" If there is any event that doesn't get help or support financially at all, it is poetry but some of us are bent on changing that but it will be a step at a time. It was and still not easy.

"Proposals went down heavily, but it's always what it is. However I'm grateful to some individuals for their  unwavering support especially Christopher Agyare, the CEO of Quantfin Inc, for the crucial role he played in making this cultural celebration possible," he said.

However, he thanked the Ghana Tourism Authority for adding poetry to event endorsed for the "Beyond The Return" activities.

"This is a step in the right direction as it adds a positive touch to poetry events," he said.
