Police arrest Ali Baba Foster for assaulting his wife
Ali Baba Foster, a Ghanaian highlife musician has been arrested by the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) of Odorkor for severely assaulting his wife during theearly hours of Sunday, April 21.
Foster,52, was picked by the police following a report made by the wife and is currently being held for assault.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, DSP Freeman Tettey, the wife, Beatrice Foster rushed to the police early in the morning and reported that she has been severely assaulted by the Shock hit maker following a slight misunderstanding.
He said Beatrice informed the police that she has been suffering at the hands of her husband for a number of years now.
The DSP Tettey said according to Beatrice, anytime they had a slight misunderstanding, her husband would pounce on her and beat her up .
He said the wife who could not take it anymore decided to report his conduct to the police this time round in order to teach him a lesson.
DSP Tettey said the police has launched a full scale investigations into the allegation and will put the suspect before court soon after investigations.
He said the wife has also been issued with a medical form to attend hospital.
The couple has been married for the 17 years and have three children—a boy and two girls.
Ali Baba Foster who shot to fame in the late 80's and early 90's is known for popular tunes such as Mensusu Sa, Anigyina, Twe San, Shock and Monmfa Nto Me.
