Ras Caleb to lead a delegation to Uganda to participate in the “1st Africa Youth Congress, Kampala 2024” in September

Musician and Pan Africanist Ras Caleb Appiah-Levi, who is the Founding President of PanAfrica-Ghana (PAG), is set to lead a delegation from Ghana to participate in the "Africa Youth Congress, Kampala, 2024" slated for September 10 to 11, 2024 at the Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort.

The participation has been possible by the courtesy of African Kin Education Resource Centre (AKERC) of Uganda in partnership with the Government of Uganda.

According to Ras Caleb, the Chairman of the Organising Committee, he mentioned that Comrade Kalema Rodgers stated that “the Congress has been held in various countries across Africa since its inception in 2014 and has proven to be a powerful platform for fostering collaboration, networking, and capacity-building among young Africans.”

"The Africa Kin Education Resource Centre (AKERC) has revealed that Uganda will host the 2024 edition of the African Youth Congress (AYC), a premier gathering of young leaders and change-makers from across the continent".

The AYC is a platform that brings together young people from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds to discuss pressing issues affecting the continent and to develop innovative solutions to address them.

According to Comrade Kalema Rodgers, the Congress has been held in various countries across Africa since its inception in 2014 and has proven to be a powerful platform for fostering collaboration, networking, and capacity-building among young Africans.

AKERC boasts of a 3,500-cadre membership all over Africa with staunch Pan-Africanists dedicated to strengthening the African civilisations.

“These Pan-Africanists work endlessly to ensure Africa attains her dream of becoming a global power,” Comrade Kalema Rodgers said on May 18, 2024, at Imperial Royale Hotel Kololo in Kampala, Uganda during the launch of the Congress.

H. E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of Uganda 

is expected to be the Special Guest of Honour at the event with the expected representation of 55 countries as well as leaders from the African Union (AU), East African Community (EAC), the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The theme of the Congress is "Africanism: Modernise Along Culture," and it shall feature a range of activities, including plenary sessions, workshops, panel discussions, and networking opportunities.

The Congress will focus on various topics, including entrepreneurship, leadership, education, health, and technology, with a particular emphasis on how young people can contribute to achieving the African Union's Agenda 2063 and the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As the leader of the Ghanaian delegation, Ras Caleb Appiah-Levi of PanAfrica-Ghana (PAG) has been given a 15-minute slot to do a presentation on Culture Preservation on the first day of the Congress, and a music performance on the closing day. 

PAG and AKERC will sign a partnership Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the event, and also pay a courtesy call on the President of Uganda H.E. Comrade Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at the Presidency in Kampala.

PAG delegates will also meet to interact with the President and Founder of Uganda National Musicians Federation to seek partnership.

The PanAfrica-Ghana (PAG)  delegation comprises of Ras Caleb Appiah-Levi, Founding President of PAG; Ms Christabel Nana Akosua Yeboah, Secretary and Personal Assistant to the President of PAG; Mr. Paul Alorkpa, Deputy Africa Regional Coordinator, PAG; Mr. Caleb Kofie, Director of Human Resource Training and Research Development, PAG / National  Executive Secretary of Ghana Tourism Federation (GHATOF); and Mr. Jones Aruna Nelson, Communication Consultant, PAG and Director of Corporate Affairs, Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), respectively.

The delegation will depart to Kampala,  Uganda on September 9, 2024 and return to Ghana on September 13, 2024.
