'Saturday Night Live!'
When Motumbo Da Poet took the microphone and began to pour out some tongue-twisting and mind-blowing lines, the crowd could not help but reward him with a loud round of applause. Anybody who doubted that Ghanaians appreciated poetry should have been at the show to experience the excitement that Motumbo generated with his fine spoken words.
When models for French-Ghanaian designer extraordinaire, Art Michael, aka Michael Gamor hit the runway they succeeded in adding some colour and splendour to the event.
The organsiers, Exclusive Vista Entertainment (EVE), spoiled the VIP guests with choice food, plus cocktails from Kasapreko and free phones from RLG, while the standard ticket holders also enjoyed some Kasapreko drinks.
Saturday Night Live!-GH, was introduced last year by EVE to provide a regular platform for artistes in the country to showcase their talents while providing regular entertainment to keep night life in Accra hot.
The event is an eclectic night of fashion, comedy, poetry and live music, which the organisers say will be held every quarter (three months).
Mr Eugene Chinebua, a director at EVE said the idea is to establish a landmark show that would give people a good reason to go out at the weekend, once every three months, to entertain themselves. The show was hosted by movie star, Ama K. Abebrese.
Saturday Night Live!-GH was sponsored by Alomo Bitters (Kasapreko), Tigo and Rlg with support from the Golden Tulip, Accra. It was also supported by Schweppes Malt, digital innovation and DDP. Media Partners are Joy fm 99.7, Via SAT 1, E TV, GH One and Multi TV.
