Shatta Wale, others spice up ‘Taste of Ghana’

DANCEHALL act Shatta Wale is a show stopper and no one can take that from him. He is a great performer who seems to know exactly what to dish out to his audience.

From the moment he stepped on stage at 11.20 pm at the concert to climax the recently held fourth edition of ‘Taste of Ghana’ festival till he left after an hour and a half, there was no dull moment. He virtually sent his audience into a frenzy.

He treated patrons who had gathered at the Forecourt of the State House to banger after banger from his large collection of music and they simply loved it.

He got revelers of the well-attended event jamming to over 20 songs including ‘Baby Chop Kiss’, ‘Ayoo’, ‘Level’, ‘Comfortable Lead’, ‘Melissa’, ‘Mahama Paper’, ‘Gringo’, ‘Taking Over’ etc and when he was done with his act, they just couldn’t help but chant for more even as he walked off stage.

Shatta was not the only good thing that happened to patrons on the night. Anticipation was very high when organisers of ‘Taste of Ghana’, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) in collaboration with Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) announced the acts featuring on the bill.

So the other fine Ghanaian musicians who shared the stage with Shatta Wale such as R2Bees, EL, Gasmilla, Adina, Fancy Gadam, Eno Barony, Kofi Jamal among others were well received. Each of them delivered as expected leaving patrons excited.

Prior to the concert, there was fashion show with models strutting their stuff on stage. Designers who showcased their creations included Selsam Couture, Doramp Fashion House, Brand Wear Ghana, ZaQi, Kustom Looks Clothier and Thembi Republic by musician Adina Thembi.

‘Taste of Ghana’ was started in 2020 as the signature Christmas programme from Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) in collaboration with Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) with support from Beyond the Return Secretariat (BTR), and the Ministry of Information.
