Stonebwoy is hopeful VGMA will be like the Grammys or BETs
Award winning Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy is very hopeful that the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) could be just like the Grammys and BET Awards in the nearest future if the organisers stuck to the quality production.
The 'Therapy' artiste who picked the Afropop Song of the Year and Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year awards said his comments were based on his observation of this year’s show.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Drive Time and reported by Joy Entertainment, the father of two pointed out that although the organisers have done well over the years, the level they took it this year was worth praising.
“I think by the next three times the VGMAs will be held like this, it will feel like I am really watching the Grammys or BETs, to be honest,” he stated.
Stonebwoy said he had the time to assess this year’s show because he was seated among the guests and not at the backstage as happened in previous years when he performed.
“This would be one of the first times that I would just be sitting and watching the whole show and getting up to collect what is deserved. That gave me a lot of time to see the VGMAs from a different perspective like a complete consumer who would actually take note and see what the improvement have been and what I can do the next time when I am performing.
“So I think my overall submission will be that this year’s has been amazing, super – from the red carpet to the stage, the use of lighting and screen,” he said.
Kwaku The Traveller hitmaker, Black Sherif was crowned VGMA24 Artiste of the Year last Saturday, May 6 when the event came off at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
