That Night I Found Love hits Sunyani

Love comes to those who still hope, all though they have been disappointed.

It comes to those who believe, although they have been betrayed. For those who still lean to it, although they have been hurt before and to those who have the courage and faith to build trust again.

We have been made to believe that love is blind, but over the years I have come to believe love is more of a decision than of vision. We accept all forms of abuse or happiness depending on whom or what we decide to love at any given time.

It is true that we not know what we have until we lose it, but it is also true that we do not know what we are missing until it arrives.

'THAT NIGHT I FOUND LOVE' is a tragedy mixed with a bit of comedy to lighten moods, but leaves one with heightened emotions and so many questions about love. The play questions the kinds of relationships we find ourselves in. 'THAT NIGHT I FOUND LOVE ' asks are you safe with whom you are in love with? Is abuse only physical or not?

The play is about a young lady who is subjected to a wheelchair and still suffers abuse verbally and physically from the man she loves. She lives in fear and in so much pain, she does not disclose to even the few people she is allowed by her partner to have interactions with for fear of punishment.

Little did she know that her best friend is not only in bed with her partner but also knows exactly what she goes through at the hands of her partner.

As events unfold, love is presented to her in an unexpected turn of events. She delays in accepting true love, she delays in seeing true love. She kept looking at the closed door of love, that she did not notice a bigger door of love open to her. She found herself clad in hopelessness hoping to hear 'I love you' from her partner, that she got so deaf as to not hear it from the one who said it from the heart.

The unexpected happens.

Just as she accepts love, love does not stay forever.

Come find out what love she found and how love left her. This intense and emotional drama flavoured with a bit of comedy and music, does not only educate us on abuse and love as a decision, but also prompts us to chase what our heart yearns for quickly and never hesitating, because the moments we waste in taking what we want, could be the only moments we will ever have of what we wanted.

This third piece written and directed by Anita Oduro and produced by Anod Communications will be staged in Sunyani this Saturday 28th of October, 2017 at the Eusbett hotel for only 20.00 Ghana cedis at 5 pm and 8 pm respectively.
