Tidal Rave Festival earns global nod with Shorty Awards nomination
Africa’s leading beach festival, Tidal Rave Festival, has been named a finalist for the 18th Annual Shorty Awards.
The festival secured a nomination in the Live Events category, placing it on a global platform and highlighting the growing recognition of African youth culture and experiential events on the international stage.
The Shorty Awards, widely regarded as one of the top honours in digital and social media, celebrates outstanding work from across the world. Tidal Rave now finds itself competing with major global events such as Disney’s F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix experience, BACARDÍ’s Lollapalooza livestream and the LA Phil’s debut at Coachella.
For a festival that started in Ghana, the nomination is a strong sign of its impact and quality. Chief Executive Officer of EchoHouse, Beryl Agyekum Ayaaba, described the recognition as a proud moment for the brand.
“This nomination shows that our creativity and energy can stand tall on the global stage,” she said.
Over the years, Tidal Rave Festival has grown beyond Ghana to become a movement across the region. Its expansion into Liberia has strengthened its presence and proven its appeal beyond borders, blending music, lifestyle and community into a unique experience.
Beryl also revealed that the organisers are working to extend the festival to more African cities, including Durban in South Africa and Lagos in Nigeria.
Despite the international attention, organisers say the achievement belongs to the festival’s loyal community, known as the “Tribe.” According to them, the nomination reflects the strong spirit and connection that has driven the event since it began.
Tidal Rave is also in contention for the Audience Honor award, which will be decided by public voting. The organisers are encouraging fans to support by voting daily on the Shorty Awards website.
