Trust Mahama to fix galamsey- DKB on impending anti-galamsey march
Comedian DKB has dismissed the planned Anti-Galamsey demonstration set for September 23 as unnecessary, urging organisers to accept President John Mahama’s assurances that he is already addressing the problem.
Speaking on the issue, DKB argued that President Mahama has a track record of keeping his word and should be trusted to resolve the situation without mass protest.
He further suggested that demonstrations would be redundant and that citizens should believe the president’s promises.
A video shared by the comedian on his Facebook page, said : “Yo, this is my message to those who want to organise the Anti-Gallamtse Demonstration. Listen, when JM, President Mahama, tells you he is working on something, he is really working on it. He's not like the others.”
The comedian recalled that during the previous bout of dumsor that became prevalent under the president’s tenure and led to public protests, the president stepped in with a timely intervention, even going as far as providing streetlights for demonstrators.
He noted that since then, dumsor has largely become a thing of the past. “I remember the Dumsor video. He said he was working on the Dumsor. We thought he was playing, so we went to the demonstration.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. In the end, who solved Dumsor for us? This year, 9 months, not a single night or day of darkness. You understand? So if JM says he's working on it, he is working on it.
He is not lying. He doesn't do Chandam and Vandam. But if you insist, I want to inform you, if you insist on doing the Anti-Galamsey Demonstration, don't panic.
JM practises democracy. He doesn't fear demonstration. He sees it as a form of expression.
Do you know what? When we were going to the Dumsor demonstration, the day of the demonstration, he came to fix street lights for us so that we would not fall into gutter. Imagine! So you, that you want to do your Dumsor, your Anti-Galamsey Demonstration, just know that the day of your demonstration, he will organise sound system and brass band for you, for you to enjoy yourself. He will come and share free water.”
