The variety of activities marking the festival was climaxed with a mini durbar at the chief’s palace after the Tema Mantse, Nii Adjei Krakue II, in the company of the Sakumo Wulomo, Nuumo Ashiboye Kofi II, led a procession to sprinkle the traditional food, Kpokpoi, across the major streets in the metropolis.

Prior to the sprinkling of the Kpokpoi, Nii Adjei KrakueII led residents in a clean-up exercise in the Manhen community as parts of the National Sanitation Day (NSD).

Speaking on the theme for the celebrations, “Homowo as an instrument for Peaceful Elections”, Nii Krakue tasked residents to use the occasion to unite.

He also expressed worry at the continuous disputes in various Ga communities, which he said had impacted negatively on the development of the entire Ga state.

Cautioning politicians on the need to protect the relative peace being enjoyed in the country, Nii Adjei Krakue II, urged contestants in the upcoming elections to endeavour to accept the results as they may come.

“Do not let people point fingers at you that you are the cause of a political violence that killed many during the 2016 elections”, Nii Adjei Krakue II cautioned politicians.
