You are going too far with your actions, Quophi Okyeame admonishes Shatta Wale

Quophi Okyeame, musician and radio personality  has cautioned Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale over his recent tirade against Kwasi Aboagye, host of Peace FM’s Entertainment Review, saying the musician went too far in his attack and needed to be mindful of his choice of words when expressing his anger as it could have far-reaching consequences.

He was emphatic that Shatta Wale's aggressive response may have crossed a line and urged the artiste to be mindful of his choice of words when venting his frustration, as it could lead to unintended but profound repercussions.

The source of Shatta Wale's anger could be traced back to Kwasi Aboagye's remarks on his show, which cast doubt on Shatta Wale's claim that he was paid a hefty sum of 80,000 pounds for a recent performance at the Ghana Music Awards UK.

Incensed by the comments, Shatta Wale took to Facebook Live to launch a scathing attack on the radio presenter. Not stopping there, he also used offensive language directed at Fadda Dickson, Managing Director of Despite Media, and Dr Osei Kwame, CEO of the same media conglomerate.

Quophi Okyeame on Shatta Wale's tirades

Quophi Okyeame's response to this controversy centred on the excessive nature of Shatta Wale's tirade, especially towards individuals who were not directly involved in the payment dispute. He underscored the importance of exercising restraint when making public statements and encouraged the popular musician to consider the potential consequences of his actions.

“What did Fadda Dickson or Despite do to warrant such insults? I think he went overboard and must guard his words anytime he wants to make a statement. If you have a problem with Kwasi Aboagye why extend it to his bosses? That was not right and if he has any apology to make, he shouldn’t feel big to do so. This industry is too small, you might not know whose help you will need in future,” he told Graphic Showbiz in an interview recently.

Quophi Okyeame explained that Despite Media has every right to blacklist Shatta Wale if they wanted to.

“The Despite Media can decide to blacklist Shatta Wale because he said he doesn’t need them. If you insult a media house and state clearly that you don’t need them why should they give you their platform? It is not everything that you say when you are angry. Sometimes, you can make your case without insults and your message will be well delivered,” he stated.
