THE month of December is just around the corner and already event organisers are gearing up to treat revellers to exciting events to mark the Yuletide.

One of the events to herald the Christmas holidays is African Legend Night concert slated for Friday, December 1 at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre(AICC).

For more than a decade, the African Legends Night has become synonymous with celebrating the excellence and contributions of African music legends, and this year is no exception.

 This year's lineup of artististes to rock the concert are South Africa’s Yvonne Chaka Chaka and some Ghana’s finest made up of Hiplife legend Obrafuor, Highlife artistes George Jahraa and Kwabena Kwabena.

With their unique style and influence, the artistes are expected to captivate the audience in an unforgettable night of music and celebration.

 Yvonne Chaka Chaka, affectionately known as the Princess of Africa, has graced the global music stage for decades with her powerhouse vocals and timeless hits. Her songs, including Umqombothi, have transcended borders, making her a beloved African icon.

Fondly referred to as the Rap Sofo of Ghana, Obrafour is a pioneer in the Hiplife music genre. His thought-provoking lyrics have earned him a dedicated following beyond Ghana.

Highlife artiste George Jahraa became popular in 1990 for his Driver-Banza album, which has the well-known Sanukade song. Trust him to bring good energy on stage when he perform another banger, Ashikele.

Also on the bill is the Asor hitmaker, Kwabena Kwabena, who needs no introduction. He knows how to drag the audience along with him on stage.

With his chart-topping songs such as Adult Music, Tokro, Tuamudaa, patrons are certainly in for a good time.

“Their music has left an indelible mark on the African music landscape, and we are excited to honour their contributions on one stage. This promises to be a night to remember," Emma Wenani added.

Among   the host of celebrated African musicians who have graced the platform of African Legends Night are Hugh Masekela of South Africa, Femi Kuti of Nigeria and Freddy Meiway of Cote D’Ivoire. Not forgetting Ghana’s Amakye Dede and Daddy Lumba.
