Just what’s wrong with our politicians?

Some of us are just sick and tired about the behaviour and the double standards of politicians in this country.

I am making this statement in reference to the demolition exercise at old Fadama(Sodom and Gomorrah).

Now all politicians from NDC and NPP are jumping to the defence of the illegal settlement of the residents.

Are we proud as a country for that settlement to be tagged as the most polluted site in the world.

Do’nt we know the concomitant effect of the health hazards of the residents in this community due to polluted substances that they are exposed to. I will urge journalist in this country to visit our hospitals and request for medical history of patients from Sodom and Gomorrah. The shocking news is that majority of them have contracted internal organs ailments due to prolong exposure to mercury and other injurious substances.

In terms of sanitation, the least we talk about them the better and can you imagine they do all sort of things such as open defecation, dumping of refuse and the like to pollute the odaw channel.

Again who does not know of the illegal connection of water and electricity by the residents but because of political expediency we watch on.

Accra is littered with all sort of illegal settlements. Take a trip on the railway line from central Accra to Achimota and you will see the mess.
