The majority in NPP has spoken, but…

One man does not fight a dozen. That is true. At board and some other committee meetings, however, a dissenter has the benefit of a minority opinion. I remember doing same some time in 1988 when at a session of the Ghana Cinematographic Board of Control, of which yours truly was a member, I was the lone voice of dissent. Every other member had voted to pass the film. But I had a contrary opinion. I argued my case to no end. When the chairman concluded that I was getting on everybody’s nerves, he dared me to state my case in a thick notebook and I did.

Going by the majority vote, the film was released. A week later, however, someone higher up at the Ministry of Information asked that the film be re-evaluated. On the strength of the second group’s majority opinion, the film was withdrawn from circulation and totally banned. Someone happened to read my minority opinion! It is called ‘The Power of One’.

Unfortunately in the current goings-on in the  New Patriotic Party
