Dear Ablakwah, A child is defined by the Constitution and The Children's Act as any human being below the age of 18 years. Children's rights are the human rights of children with particular attention to the rights of special protection and care afforded to the young.
These rights of the child are also the obligations of the parents or any person in “ locus parentis” that is, somebody who is acting in place of the parents of the child.
Children are young human beings. As human beings, children evidently have a certain moral status. There are things that should not be done to them for the simple reason that they are human.
