Israel expands ground offensive in Lebanon
Israel is expanding its ground incursion in southern Lebanon as it escalates its war against Hezbollah.
Explosions tore through the skies overnight in Beirut, where nightly Israeli strikes have targeted the southern suburbs since September 27.

Meanwhile, sites in Israel have continued to come under rocket fire from Lebanon, in strikes claimed by Hezbollah. The Israeli military said Tuesday that more than 100 rockets had been fired at Israel in one hour, as the northern city of Haifa and Galilee were struck.
Hezbollah has publicly supported efforts by Lebanon’s parliament speaker to achieve a ceasefire with Israel for the first time since the war started. Hezbollah previously said it would only stop firing at Israel once a ceasefire is reached with Hamas in Gaza.
In Gaza, an Israeli strike on a home in the Al Bureij refugee camp killed at least 30 Palestinians on Monday, according to officials at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. CNN footage early Tuesday shows the lifeless bodies of boys, girls and men filling the morgue floor.
