Bebuoso R/C candidates sure of good performance
Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates from the Bebuoso Roman Catholic JHS at Donkorkrom in the Kwahu Afram Plains North District of the Eastern Region have expressed confidence in passing the examination with good grades despite a mix up in their timetable.

The candidates joined their counterparts in the Mary Mother of Good Counsel School at the Airport Residential Area in Accra in March this year to prepare for the BECE because their school was not well resourced.
In separate interviews with the Junior Graphic, they said their short stay at the Mary Mother of Good Counsel School helped them a lot, adding that “it improved the way they studied, spoke and dressed, among other things”.
On the problem they had with the mix up of the BECE timetable, they said, they were informed that the papers on the first day of the examination were English Language and Social Studies (scheduled for Monday, June 16) but when they got to the examination centre at 7: 00 a.m. the supervisor told them the timetable they had was wrong.
They learnt at the centre that they would be writing English Language and Religious and Moral Education (RME) instead.
That, According to Rev. Fr. Stephen Kofi Sakpaku, the Local Manager of the school, was due to the failure of the examination officer in the district to inform the schools under his jurisdiction about the change in the timetable before the examination day.
Father Sakpaku explained that the officer later informed them because the schools he served were scattered he had a challenge going round to inform all of them about the change in the timetable.
One of the candidates, Master Richmond Normenyo, said although they were surprised about the change in the timetable they managed to write the RME paper without much difficulty because they had prepared well for all the papers.
“Even though we had a wrong timetable, we were able to write confidently because our teachers and Rev. Fr. Sakpaku had prepared us sufficiently for the exam,” Ms Abigail Kamam, one of the candidates told the Junior Graphic.
Rev. Fr. Sakpaku said the short stay of the students at the Mary Mother of Good Counsel in Accra made a great impact on them.
He said when the students returned to Donkorkrom from Accra the mock examination they wrote had amazing results adding that “ we are hopeful that this time they would perform better than the 2013 class where the best aggregate was 37”.
