‘Discipline leads to outstanding academic achievements’

The Director of the Teshie St John Senior High School in Accra, Mr Samuel Laryea, has advised students to be disciplined  in order to achieve outstanding results in their academic pursuits.

Mr Laryea, who was addressing students during their graduation ceremony recently stressed the need for every child to have quality education and uphold discipline since those were key necessities in the development of every individual.

The annual ceremony, which is held to bid farewell to students who have completed their courses, was on the theme: “Harnessing Discipline and Quality Education”.

Mr Laryea pointed out that in every aspect of development, education and discipline cannot be avoided because they contribute to the attainment of best results.

He spoke against absenteeism and lateness to school by students, pointing out that they were the major factors that contributed to poor performance leading to streetism.

He urged teachers, the government and, especially parents to show concern by ensuring that their children took their homework seriously.
