Mr Abdul-Moomin Tahiru said students must adopt the learning methods that best suits the individual to ensure a good understanding of the subjects and topics.

Speaking to more than 2000 final-year students drawn from all the basic schools in the Wa Municipality in the Upper West Region, Mr Tahiru said proper planning of studies was the surest way of understanding subjects and topics.

The event was a career guidance and counseling session for final-year students of basic schools in the Wa Municipality who are preparing for the upcoming BECE which starts next Monday, June 16, across the country. It also addressed the question of how to study for examination.

Mr Tahiru said stimulants such as coffee which students consume in large quantities to keep them awake for studies could have long-term effect on the students, besides the fact that stimulants could not guarantee a pass in any subject.

He said students needed to draw a study guide and abide by it religiously, taking into consideration the best methods that suited their learning.
