In a speech read on her behalf by Rev. Dr Araba Grahl Cobbold, at the Child of the Light School’s second graduation and Speech and Prize-giving Day, Mrs Bosomtwe-Sam said, the education Act, 2008. Act 778 gives the National Inspectorate Board the power to inspect and supervise the management of schools.

She said, this was to ensure that, educational institutes provided students with quality services and also to ensure that all students were treated equally.

She said, it was often difficult for supervisors when the administrators of the schools they visited did not cooperate with them.

She advised teachers to be committed to their work stressing that “students are at the centre of education; therefore, it is necessary to take their contributions into consideration.”

Prof. Ken Attafuah, who chaired the function, said teachers must give audience to their students and take keen interest in building up an “average or poor” student in a class into an excellent one.

Master Dean Herbet Aryeh, who took the Overall Best Student Award, said he was happy for taking three certificates and two prizes.

He said it was not easy combining his leadership role as the school prefect with studies but with determination, he was able to get that far.

He appreciated the school management and his parents for helping him get there.
