La Dade-Kotopon basic school games end

This year’s La Dade-Kotopon Inter-Circuit Games and Athletics Festival have been held at the El-Wak Sports Stadium in Accra.

The two-day event which was attended by a large number of students from the municipality saw the students competing in events such as 100 metres, 200 metres, 1,500 metres, javelin, 4X100 metres, 60 metres, long jump, triple jump, handball, netball and volleyball.

In athletics, the Manle Dada Circuit was adjudged the overall winner in the boys and girls event with 187 points while the Airport Rangoon Circuit came second with 141 points and the Emmaus Circuit took the third place with 98 points.

The Arakan, Adjetey and Adobetor circuits followed in the fourth, fifth and sixth positions with 97, 96 and 95 points respectively.

For the Girls Athletics contest, Manle Dada had 93 points; Airport Rangoon, 56 points; Emmaus, 55 points, Adobetor, 53 points; Arakan, 50 points and Adjetey, 49 points.

In the Boys Division, Manle Dada had 94 points; Airport Rangoon, 85 points; Arakan, 47 points; Adjetey, 47 points; Emmaus, 43 points and Adobetor, 39 points.

The girls volleyball contest saw Manle, Adobetor and Airport Circuits take the first, second and third positions while Emmaus, Adjetey and Arakan Circuits placed fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.

For the boys volleyball, Manle Dada came first, Adobetor, second; Airport Rangoon, third; Emmaus, fourth; Arakan, fifth and Adjetey, sixth.

Airport Rangoon, Manle Dada, Emmaus, Adobetor, Arakan and Adjetey Circuits took the first to sixth positions in the girls handball category while Adobetor, Emmaus, Airport Rangoon, Manle Dada, Adjetey and Arakan, placed first to sixth in that order.
