Unilever supports FirstBank internship programme
Unilever Ghana has donated boxes of Pepsodent toothpaste, toothbrushes and more than 1,000 exercise books to FirstBank Ghana to support the bank’s Junior Internship Programme (JIP) organised for students.
The items would be given to the participants after they complete their five-day internship, which is going on in all the branches of the bank across the country.

Presenting the items to the Head of Retail Banking Mr Allen Quaye, the Marketing Manager of the Oral Care Unit of Unilever, Ms Vera Boadu, said Unilever was passionate about exposing children to the importance of proper basic personal hygiene, especially their oral hygiene, at an early age to enable them to take good care of their dental health throughout their lives.
“At Unilever Ghana, we cherish the need for children to be conscious of their health, especially at an early age. We are excited to partner with FirstBank on the JIP. The bank is catching them young as a form of corporate social responsibility. We share this goal, hence our coming on board,” she said.
Mr Quaye expressed the bank’s gratitude to Unilever Ghana for sharing in their goals for children.
“The JIP is an initiative that FirstBank Ghana is passionate about. We believe in empowering these young ones with financial literacy at an early age to help them become disciplined in financial matters,” he stated.
He said Unilever Ghana's partnership with FirstBank was excellent because the bank also believed in exposure to good hygiene at an early age, adding that together, they would add value to the lives of the children.
The JIP was introduced by FirstBank Ghana in 2023 as a financial literacy internship programme that gives children the opportunity to gain hands-on experience on the essence of savings, the history of the bank and its operations, as well as be guided on their future career development and choices.

The main goal of the programme is to expose children to the basics of banking. Other sponsors of the programme are the Junior Graphic and the Sarkodie Foundation.
